If it is like the RB5 and I suspect it is, you need 5.5mm and 7mm nut drivers and 1.5,2, and 2.5mm hex drivers.

I just ordered a set of nut drivers when I ordered my RT5.

thanks for the speedy answer. Just got my kit today so I might start the build with the tools in the kit that I don't have. Sure do love putting all the parts together. Lets you know how things work and how to fix 'em if you need to later.

I have all day tomorrow to wrench on it so I should get it done. Looking forward to running it indoors soon. With the four of us working on a setup we should find something quickly to hook up on the carpet and show those Losi boys how its done.

Just as an FYI, there are two threads going now...the actual RT5 thread and this build thread. So, maybe we can comment on the build here and use the other thread fo feedback and shtuff..haha.

Absolutely awesome kit. Finished it all except for the shocks today. Part fit and design is excellent.

Only one step in the instructions so far that is a bit unclear. When mounting the t-plate the rear two screws hold onto the bar are left loose. These screws need to be removed later on when mounting the rear bumper. The bumper goes between the block and the t-plate then the screws put back in.

The diff design is somewhat standard but is cleaned up and made smaller and more efficient. Butter smooth operation with easy setting. Four screws mount it more securely to the motor plate.

Just love this truck so far. Can hardly wait to put the power to it.

Yes, I ran the truck tonight for about ten laps but the brushless system was acting funny. It would run fine but if I stop it would not go when I nailed the trigger. Acting like a hung brus.. But its brushless! I brought it to the pits and some guys tried to check it out, but then it stopped working altogether! BRAND NEW xcelorin outa the box with a 13.5 motor...

Losi will be getting a call let me tell ya!

My other losi system is 1 yr old and still runs like a champ, so it looks like I will have to pull it outa the 4wd and get it in the truck for now! Bummer...

ANYWAYS! The truck was awesome! What little track time I had! It's stable and jumps like a dream, with these shocks? GO figure right? I will get more wheel time next weekend for sure!
Tomorrow is all for my D8 electric to play!

That's not very nice what happened to you during your maiden-run! At least you were able to put in some laps on it. Ooooh, I'm itching to start wrenching on my kit when it arrives and will copy JT's set-up from the ground up.

Well, I am doing well. All I have left are the shocks, paint the body, mount the electronics and glue up the tires.

I am actually shocked. Kyosho kits are normally a mess to build. They actually have you go bag by bag(build from bag one till out of parts then move to bag 2 etc.) rather than picking parts from random bags(start with bag 2 then get parts from 4 and 1 then parts from 3, not an exaggeration either, this is how my RB5 and ZX-5 went).

This truck is also very beefy. Everything seems to be over engineered and very thick and strong.
