Okay I got a sidewinder on order to me. Should be at the lhs by friday. The sidewinder dosen't come with a castle link in the box like the MMM right? I already have one I don't need another.

I know a guy i used to race with used to use the Castle stuff and he always had problems with the motor just quiting on him and then starting up again because it was sensorless. Sensorless motors are good for applications where you are holding a constant speed or only making minor changes in speed, like in a boat or an airplane. They really aren't good for racing applications.

Gah don't tell me that. I'll give it a shot, worse comes to worse i'll pop a brushed motor in.
I ran a race day already running sensorless..its not as smooth as sensored but it still is race worthy.

The cogging issue, stuttering on takeoff, has gotten better. They still arent quit as smooth as sensored but not too bad anymore.

Yea I never am on the breaks the trick to my local track is to keep everything flowing and not stop and start. Anyone out there race a sensorless setup?

(also, the vxl-3 esc can run sensored motors)
