Default Slash Racing in Austin Tx -- Video

I had a few more clips left over from the city shootout vid so I decided to do an all Slash vid. And this vid has my music on it for the first time Tired of getting vids yanked down from the tube so I'm learning how to do my own.

Default Yea

Yea that is the bone stock class. I think they had 4 heats all together. Wed night is the big Slash race. I haven't made it out to one of those yet. They only run the Slash and 1:10 on the back track on Wed night. The big track is open for practice though. Ron Atomic is in that race. I thought he moved to Fla to do on-road but he was out there running his Slash.

We attempted to open up an Open CORR class when the SC10 came out for them and the mod Slashes to run in. Lasted all of 3 weeks before it died out. Our new "bucket" class formed from the ashes of that. It now is home to our 2 SC10's that run plus the 2WD and 4WD vehicles.

4WD is starting to take off again and will hopefully be split off from the "bucket" class soon.

Default Whats up ClawZ

Whats up. Yea I don't know much about the set-up classes etc. I quit racing a couple of years ago and went strictly to shooting video of races. I don't know why the mod class didn't fly. I guess the timing wasn't just right. I'm thinking with all the new trucks that something will have to give quick. In my way of thinking you need somewhere for people to go once the loose the zip from the stock platform. Racers will be racers and bigger and faster are the only way to go. The stock class has been very successful at n-control. The track is nothing like it was when it started. It was an oval track. That fizzled last year. It has covered pits etc. The pair of tracks and BMX track behind it make up a pretty nice complex. Playground for the kiddies and all.

What's with the 70's porn music I always get a kick out of people's choices in rc video soundtracks. Cool track! It looks fast

Default 70's porn music eh

Hey I like that. I'll call that song 70's porn. Except in the 70's people weren't watching too much porn. It was the time of free love and no aids remember. No time to watch when you could be engaged yourself

Maybe you'll like the one I just finished. Its more edgy. I use all kinds of music. Check the 100 + vids on youtube/griz11 and you'll see.

Also the latest 20 are always available at www.promofo-racing.org/sampler.html

I should have the new one up later today.

Default Stock seems to be holding up well here

They tried to get a modified Corr truck class started but I went away after 3 weeks or so. Maybe the time isn't right yet or maybe this truck stock at the price it sells for fits a niche and won't ever go away. Sure does bring in a lot of new racers.

This vid is from last Fall's R/C Pro Series Finals. First time for a Slash race at the finals. There were two heats the size of the one in this vid. I've never seen that many cars of a single type at any race before.

Becasue there's no reason that the sc10 shouldnt be allowed to run in the slash class. The Slash and SC10 are the same price and both rtr so why not. Why through the sc10 in mod?

Default Same thing here

The same thing has happened here. Everything started out with the stock Slash class and the track owners and participants don't seem to want to go up in performance like most others do. I think the SC10 and Slash are close enough so that a decent fair set of rules could be come up with so they could race together. Everyone that doesn't have a Slash here gets lumped into the Bucket class. By this time next year I bet its all sorted. Still a fairly new class. But I feel for all the guys that bought a non Slash truck. It takes a lot of the fun out of it if you can't race with similar but different makes of cars.

Yeah, hopefully it does and there's a new track opening up here and I dont think we are going to do the "Only Slash" classes. Stupid to me to sepprate. Like saying, "Ok guys, today in stock truck you can only run XXX-T's." "Sorry to all you guys that own T4's, RT5's, and Rustlers but we are throwing you in the free-for-all with the 4wd." Come on@!

Default The more the better

People aren't going to want to buy the same truck. Things have changed now that there are lots of CORR trucks available. Tracks are hard enough to keep going. I can't see why you would want to turn anyone away. I just don't see how any track will be able to keep an all Slash as its only CORR class. Its great for new drivers. Bone stock lower power. But as soon as they learn how to wheel then its time to get the more experienced ones out of the rookie mix anyways or the rookies get discouraged then your rookie program goes down the drain. Running a track is a big can of worms sometimes. I finally saw the SC10 run the other night and I was impressed. It seemed to handle better than the Slash. However I was only watching them as I was shooting so I could be wrong but it sure looked like to me the SC10 was quicker.
