Default Servo drawing power from 4s 5000 mah LIPO quesstions.

I just picked up a Losi 8ight E 2.0 and still need to pick up a radio and servo. What servo do you guys recommend? I will be running a 4S 5000 mah lipo and wanted to know can the Servo draw power from that battery pack safely? Do I need to get some type of regulator?

Thanks in Advance!

You don't need a regulator. You ESC will take care of that for you.
I would recomend the JR9100T for your servo.

What's the ESC you have? If it is a type that doesn't have a BEC above a certain voltage (ie. Mamba Max at 4S) or some other that doesn't have a good BEC, you can get a voltage regulator or BEC. Castle makes a good BEC you solder off the main battery wires and then plug into the receiver like a receiver pack.

or

I like the 2nd one as you can choose 5V or 6V output. It's 3A max though - make sure your servos don't draw more. The Castle allows 10A output for stronger servos (probably preferred for 1/8 scale). I've got the Castle in my son's Hyper 8 conversion with a Mamba Max.

The ESC is the one provided in the 8ight E 2.0 Roller kit.

Yes - then the xcelorin ESC does have a BEC and it's programmable it seems (after reading the specs). The BEC "powers your receiver and servo".

Thansk for that.

If I download the current exceleroin software:

Do I also install the Setup only or both the setup and firmware?
