I heard the acetone works for taking the paint off the inside of your rc body too! My neighbor a few years ago decided he wanted to change the color on his pan car body and put it in acetone and woke up the next morning and it was gone HAHAHA! it shriveled it up in a little ball!

I put mine in the oven at 475 degrees in a pan of Acetone, after soaking them in gasoline for 30 min.

I just buy new rims and say c-ya to the old ones when the tires go bald.

Im not sure what rims cost for 1/8 or for other buggies or trucks, but for any of my 10th Associated buggies its cheap enough to replace them.

Two pair of JConcepts wheels are only $11.00

This dosnt happen with the JConcept wheels but the Associated rear wheels usually twist when looking at the ribs on the in side of the rim, and or where the drive pin sits, gets worn rather well, by the time the tires are bald.

I need to do this once in a while becaue sometimes my LHS doesnt have any rims for me to buy because they only order like 20 sets and then they dont order for like a month, so I need to do this once in a while. The tires I dont care about but the rims are important.

I am going to give the acetone fume method a try today since I need to remount some tires since the rims got damaged.

Here is what I am going to do, anyone got better advice let me know:

- Put tires in plastic bag that can seal
- Put some acetone at the bottom of the bag (about 1/2 cup?)
- Let sit over night, and remove

Not worried about the rims, but I do want the foams to be usable (losi foams, losi red compound tires).

Thoughts?

Also, tried the boiling method, it does work, but is a PITA.

I have never tried a plastic bag but would guess the acetone would eat right through it. You need a sealable container like an old paint can.

NAIL POISLSH REMOVER W 100% AZITONE , LET IT SIT FOR A COUPLE HOURS THEN SHOULD BE NICE & CLEAN WHEN DONE. (FIRST CUT THE SIDES DOWN, NOT ALL THE WAY TO THE RIM BUT ENOUGH TO PULL OFF WHEN DONE). ITS BEEN DONE, I USE THIS METHOD!!
