Since the original post was deleted, I can only guess that the OP has a gear mesh problem. In addition to using the sealed RPM gear cover and out-of-round spurs that were mentioned earlier, keep in mind that the pinion provided with the truck wears very quickly, even using the stock motor. I've had good luck with Robinson and Losi pinions.

I don't run any lubricant on the gears inside the trans, but if you feel like you need to use something, go to a bicycle shop and get some dry chain lubricant; it's wax-based and won't collect dirt like oil-based lubricants will.

I only use the truck for spec racing at my local track with the stock motor and no reverse, so if you're using a hotter motor and/or reverse, you might not get the same results I've seen, which are no wear and very little noise.
