Default XL-5 and c rating

I was wondering .. can the XL-5 speed control handle a 40c lipo?

or will it be just overdoing it?

and do i lose anything if i have to use a TRX adapter to deans?

application: mid to large size offroad course with a slash.

im currently using a 24c battery .. but i have done everything i can to this car and the other slash's seem to pass me. I asked in the pits and the only thing they are doing differently is that they are using lipos rated between 30 to 40C.

The XL-5 can handle 40C+ packs. Honestly i would look at something else. Motor condition, gearing, handling, driving, etc. You will gain a little going with a higher c pack, but maybe not as much as you think. I have ran a 20c 3200 pack against people that were running 40c 5000 packs and beat them because of being smooth. Your call, just my opinion.

Stock titan will prob not benefit that much from a 40C lipo - real benefit would be less voltage drop for a longer time during runs since batt has that much amp capacity.

Sure this is not a maintenance issue - like driveline drag??

I dont think its driveline drag.

Broke the motor in via the water method.I ran it till the two c batteries were done. this was the second run on the motor and it was thuroghly cleaned and oiled. Im running the same Spur and pinion gear. Basically the way we run it at my track is total stock. Only changes you can make is radio gear and change the pinion with the one that comes in the box.
My driving isnt that bad to where there is a 10 second gap between 1st and my car as well as the other cars passing me. I drive mostly the same line as everyone else did.

Im running an SMC 7.4V 5200mAh 24C Hard Case LiPo. and it was fully charged.. i had the speed controllers profile in Race mode.

Slipper is one click back from stock position.

I even ran the tire treads in reverse.

Im lost at what to do. Any ideas then?
