1/8th electric buggy anything new???

hey all: Was just wondering what's the latest news on the rumored new 1/8th electric buggies from hot bodies,kyosho and ofna/jammin? Also do tamiya xray and mugen have any plans of jumping into this new class? Finally when going electric in 1/8th buggy what type of chassis works best the standard aluminum or some lighter composite type? Thanks for the info
