there are tons of things you can do...

i assume you have a .15FE with no modifications to anything else.

to start here are a few things you can do.

-air filiter
-MIP racing clutch (great upgrade over stock)
-new engine (if you have the .15FE this is a must)
-HPI stainless steel hinge pins
-lunsford titanium turnbuckles
-RPM ball ends
-some different rims and tires if you please (on road tires adds a completely new element
-if you like onroad then get the stiffest front and rear springs (purpe(rear) and blue(front))
-front and rear CVD's
-electrical tape for wheels (great for drifting w/o onroad tires and stiff springs)
-upgraded steering servo (strongly suggest)
-fuel filter (MUST HAVE)
-some upgraded fuel tubing

I have a NMT and I am looking into a new engine, since the .15FE just doesn't count as an engine.

I have all the upgrades above except the new engine and I have loved my NMT

keeping everything well lubed and clean is a must so since it is used I would reccomend cleaning everything up before you start.

if you have any questions feel free to email me or hit me up on the aim.

unless you have an electric one in which case most of what I said is pointless, although some mods will still apply.

Here's a good list that was posted on the Unofficial HPI Forum:

STEP 1 : THE BASICS (cheap stuff !)
1- Boiling of front arms (use the new one if possible)
2- Front Stainless Steel Hinge Pin
3- Stronger shock spring (blue front and back)
4- Thicker silicone shock fluid (35 minimum)
5- Washer in the diff and pack them with thick grease (or seal them and use diff fluid)
6- Better air filter (Heavy duty Motor Saver)
7- Fuel filter (eventually bigger fuel lines)
8- Receiver protector

STEP 2 : THE HEAVY DUTY STUFF (expensive treat !)
1- MIP CVD all four corner (a must)
2- Set of stainless steel hinge pin with purple brace
3- Better head for the engine
4- MIP temp gauge
5- High speed high torque steering servo
6- 5 cells Battery pack
7- Don't forgot the throttle return spring or use a Fail Safe Unit

STEP 3 : THE OPTIONAL PARTS (If any money left !)
1- Set of titanium turnbuckle
2- Heavy duty main chassis
3- Graphite upper deck
4- Aluminum shock Towers
5- Aluminum rear hub 1.5 Deg.
6- Aluminum upright set
7- Sway bar set
8- Fiber disk brake
9- Universal center dogbones

STEP 4: THE ULTIMATE (For the speed-freak !)
1- Better engine (Nova-Picco-OS)
2- Better pipe (CVEC – Paris Ring)
3- Racing clutch (MIP or HPI)
4- Lightweight flywheel
5- Heavy duty final gear
6- Heavy Duty diff output shaft
7- Slipper clutch
8- Two speed Kit
