Default really really stupid question, but im new to brushless

Ok i was out smashing around in some very dusty crap, i have a 5700sidewinder in my sc10. i noticed that it all of a sudden just stopped and all it is doing now is just chattering. Im "thinking and hoping" it is just dusty inside and i can clean it, how do you clean a brushless motor? Can you just spray a bit of motor cleaner in the bottom of the can?

You can clean it out by taking out the screws on the back of the can, take the motor apart and clean it with electronic spray cleaner.

Though it can be dusty in there it sounds like you may have overheated and damaged something.

im kind of new to brushless as well, but hope this helps you out. i use performance plus 3 electric motor cleaner and both my brush and brushless motors and i see not bad effects to my brushless. i would take the motor apart and clean it that way. but before you take it apart see if you can spin it by hand, is not you might of fried something in the motor, cleaning it might more might not help. but i would try cleaning it, if that does not work, i say go to the local track and see if someone is running brushless and see if they will hook your motor up to there car, and the same with there motor to yours.

o i have seen on here about brushless motors being sensitized i would check that as well. if all out fells go to your local hobby shop if you have one and see what they say.

motor spins freely, no change there. but it makes a bit og a grinding noise, so i dont want to spin it too much. Im trying the google to see how to get the cm36s cans open but im not having any luck yet.

Hold the can in one hand and tap on the output shaft with a hammer, it should knock the back cover off the motor.

Did you check all the solder joints?
