Default Speedpassion ESCs for 1/10 scale racing

Thinking of trying the speed passion line of motors and ESCs for 1/10 scale offroad. I am not sure though what is the ESC to go with as there are a variety on Amain's site including some Low profile ones, etc.

So few questions:

- What is the top of the line ESC from Speed passion right now
- what ESCs do they offer with a motor in a combo
- Who all online carries speedpassion in the USA

Thanks.

The GT LPF 2.0 should be fine for all offroad applications. It's a cool ESC, and you can do a lot more with the included programming card then a Tekin RS.

I would say LPF 2.0 is the better choice with the footprint, and it's $160, as opposed to the $200 GT 2.0. But, I could see the 2.0 faring a little better if you didn't want to run a fan, however.

They're awesome ESC's, that's for sure, you should be happy with either one.

I got the speedpassion ESC for 1/8 coming in, so if the 1/10 scale ESC can use the same programming card that would be a big plus.

Cain, the LPF 2.0 will be just fine for what you are needing. Get the LCD programing box and you can change the software. In off-road I use the 205C software in the 2.0 LPF and run 4wd mod 6.5 motor, and the speedo and motor come off the track at about 120 deg after a 10 min main here in florida. If your gonna run 2wd I would suggest a 7.5 or 8.5. If you decide to run onroad or oval I would go with 205G as the C software is not as punchy as the G. You can order straight from schumacher USA and there product support is 2nd to none. If you have anymore questions just ask.

Default box

Matt said it perfectly. On another note yes the programming box from your 1/8 scale system will work with the 1/10 scale if you buy the new 2.0 version of the speedos. Also the Lpf version of the speedos are just as good they just only handle up to a 5.5 motor but I dont think in offroad you need a 4.5. I run the LPF versions in all my cars and LOVE them. I agree you can buy them straight from Schmacher USA and Shawn and Adam are awsome over there.

thanks guys! thats the info I have been looking for. I won't use anything close to a 5.5 even for sedan as I would use it for a VTA if I did.

How are the motors compared to other companies?

Any issues with other company motors with the speedpassion ESC as far as sensored use goes?

No problem running other motors. I've used Trinity and LRPs with my LPF. It rocks.

Cain:

I have been using SPGT v1.1 for my RC cars (RC10B4). So far it is very good in performance, reliability and $ in return (good value). I am sure their v2.0 is the same.

For the SP line of motors, I have a SP7.5 turn brushless. I chose this motor be cause it is 'designed' for offroad applications. How? Well, the motor can is enclosed, so no dust/rocks will get into the motor and damage the rotor.

Their faster motors (ie 6.5R and lower) all have holes around the motor can to dissipate heat, but in the expense of dust/rocks getting in them.

I guess there are way to work around that:
1) heat sink around and cover the holes (if there is space in your chassis)
2) put electric tape to cover the holes

anyway, SP is highly recommended in my case.

FYI, Stormer and Nexus hobbies also carry the SP esc's. I bought my 2.0 LPF from Nexus.

I've been running a GT 1.1 for the past year and it's been pretty sweet. Guys in the pits (lrp novak etc) envy my programmer box.
