Castle Creations Mamba Monster 2650
#16
I have the 2650 in my RC8 and its insane. and it CAN handle 6s, says so right in the manual. But that would be too much. I can do a wheelie with a 5000 mah lipo for as long as I want to.

I run a 3300KV neu 1512 in my 8ight, umm yeah, its fast plus it seems to get better traction and is smoother than my 1600kv medusa, which is very torquey. Don't think you can go wrong IMO with either version.
I have a 2200KV neu sitting around and have been putting off installing in the buggy since I enjoy my 3300 so much. I've heard that running higher voltage/lower KV is more efficient, than my 3300/4s setup. Hence me aquiring the 2200kv 1515.

As for the debate on 2650kv and 2200kv. I personally went with the 2200 because it offers more gearing options, more battery options, and could run more efficient because you can run a lower MAH 6S battery and have the same run times and run cooler. But it is all personal preference in the end on what you want to run. Another reason why I went with the 2200kv is because I already have a Novak with the higher kv and could use up to 4S. So i wanted something different.

I raced against a Caster Fusion equipped with the 2650Kv motor, in Jason@Maxamps vehicle. It had almost too much power. Once he got it tuned to his vehicle and driving style, it worked quite well.
I would say though make sure if you get it, that you really sit down with a laptop near by and play with the various settings to find that sweet spot or else you will just be frustrated by the wheelspin it can generate.

Taken straight from the Castle Site:
Neu-Castle 2650 KV – Intended for 4S (16.8 Volt) operation. Ideal for 1/8th buggy conversions. The 2650 is 68mm long.
Neu-Castle 2200 KV – Intended for up to 6S (25.2 Volt) operation. Incredible in monster trucks with up to 6S lipo packs (4s lipo is the sweet spot), and works great in 1/8 Truggies as well. The 2200 is 75mm long making it capable of handling more power than the 2650. This one is the bad boy!

I am hoping that castle looks into making a 2050Kv motor similar to the Neu 1512 2.5D/F motor. That motor is awesome for 1/8 scale buggy. I use it in my RC8 and its is just right. great power, but not so stupid powerful that you need to go with really different diff settings to hold everything together.
