Default Brushless Motor Question

I have a brand new LRP X-12 brushless motor, and it spins just fine when I don't have it installed in a vehicle. As soon as I put it in the truck, it will not spin at all, when I try and turn the spur gear or the axles. Any ideas why this would happen?

The screws that you are using to mount the motor into the buggy are too long. They are hitting the motor inside the can preventing it from turning. Try and cut them down with a dremmel tool or find screws that are shorter.

Thanks, I tried that but it still doesn't work? Even when I have no mounting screws in the motor, and just hold it up with my hand, it still won't spin? One other question, is the fan on the LRP TC Spec speed control supposed to run all the time, at a pretty high speed?

first, check your tranny and wheel nuts, they may be too tigt and may be holding the drive up. and the speedo fan is on as long as the speedo is on.

Checked the tranny, that's fine, I've built about a hundred of those in this car. The truck has the quick change axles on it. What I don't understand is why it spins freely out of the vehicle, but even with short screws, it will not budge when I mesh the pinion and spur together?

F Me, I figured it out. I had the wrong pitch pinion gear on the motor. It's been a couple years since I've had an electric car, and it's showing!

All that matters is that you figured it out.
