if you can open the motor, it takes a 5x16 bearing

if its an older style

Thanks for the info, I already have the can open and the front bearing out. I know its bigger than a 1/8 scale CB bearing so Its probably the first one you listed.

Thanks for the help

While we are on the subject, whats the sizes of the bearings in the 1/8 scale Neu Castle motors? And can they be removed to be changed?

While the bearings are out, would it be wise to make the swicth to ceramic bearings?

Well it ended up being a real odd ball bearing 5x14x5, I had to find out by get my brothers calipers and cross referencing the tiny ass model number stamped in the metal shield. I have received and installed the bearing so that is the size that fits. Looks like Castle may have switched bearing sizes on these?

They apparently upgraded to larger bearings because I just replaced the front bearing on a 5700 and it was 5x11x5.

I thought about replacing them with ceramics myself. A fellow racer was trying to tell me that they are more susceptible to dirt though. I have a hard time believing that.

The only thing I worry about with ceramics is if they crack. If your running a metal pinion and a plastic spur then I guess a ceramic would be ok but metal pinion to metal spur I would say no. Thats my .02 and I am probably wrong

Default Difference?

How do you tell the difference? New/old without opening it.
