RC8FT Electric Limited Edition Kit vs B44
Ok, I have been attempting to get back into this hobby after a LONG long time away and have been reading......and reading....and visiting various hobby stores and race tracks...and reading...well you get the point.
I think I've narrowed down to the RC8FT Electric Limited Edition Kit or the B44. The key for me, and what I think is at least 50% of the hobby, is I wanna build it....I don't like the RTR cars. Building it is the bet part...for me.
I will, eventually for SURE, and after a lot of practice, get myself on the tack without a doubt. But for the foreseeable near future it will be my neighborhood, local parks, etc, practicing. I want to invest from the beginning into a vehicle that will, ultimately, assist me in winning races.
I ask you, RC gurus, which of these two should I go with? Other electric kit suggestions (needing to be built) are surely welcome.
By the way folks, this forum/website is pretty killer, good job.

1/8th electric will suit your needs much better than a 1/10th car.
The Caster Fusion Pro comes in Kit form.
Check it out at www.casterracingusa.com

Realize that the RC8e FT (if you can find one) comes more or less preassembled. You just add the electric conversion, the upgrade kit and the big bore shocks. It takes a fair amount of wrenching, but it's not like building a kit from scratch. You might also look at the SC10 kit which just came out. It would be good for the neighborhood and probably racing if there is a class for it at your local track.
If what you want is something to mess around the neighborhood, the B44 will not be as good.
If you really want to race, I'd get whatever is popular at your local track.

I WILL be racing...for sure....just some practicing in the 'hood first to get re-polished.
The B44 is one bad azz buggy, no doubt, but it's just everywhere, everyone has one it seems. That's sort of why I like the RC8...not as popular here and I like that.
Bummed to hear the RC8 comes pretty much preassmebled....but you do need to take a lot apart to get the conversion kit in.
Thanks, folks. Have a GREAT weekend. Keep the discussion going if you feel like it, all info WELCOMED!
