One of the fastest guys at our club hasnt been racing much at all lately. I just saw him recently and I was surprized to find out its because he bought a Baja 5B.

I got a test drive, and its the first time in almost forever I just wanted to drive an RC vehicle around for the fun of it. It was like driving a T4 on steriods. It could idle for ever, never flamed out, didnt require endless tunning and I think he said he could get 45 minutes of run time from a single tank of gas, which costs all of 2.10 a gallon right now.

If you have access to big open spaces and don't plan to race, forget anything electric and just get the 5B. .

You say spending $200 on a battery is crazy? Your talking about buying a $1200 baja 5T! You could get a erevo or a flux with top of the line lipo packs and a good charger for less then the price of just the 5T. Just my $.02

Thanks all, but I decided to get the Baja 5T after seeing it up close today.

Arrrrrrgh, the more I watch that Savage FLux in action the more i'd rather do the Baja! I'd just like the idea of very little maintenance with these new brushless setups, I got so burnt out from my Revo 3.3 the even though I know the Baja's arn't as picky, I"m just worried about plunking down $1200 only to get fustrated working/tweaking with it.

I just wanna have a freaking fun playing with R/C again. True, the Flux doesn't have the "noise" or "cool" factor that gas does to attract a crowd, but I just wanna have fun and bush all over. ARRRRRGHHH what to do????

Either brushless or the baja 5b style will kill nitro!

Why not buy into a dying technology? Soon most full sized vehicles will be electric let alone advances made in RC make brushless cars as fast if not faster then nitro.
