Setup:
MMM CC 2200 + Zippy 4S 20C 5000 geared 44/18 = 18-22 min run times
Be sure to ZIP TY the MMM or IT WILL FAIL!!!
Worlds setup does not work for me at all, I need way more steering so here goes.
Front= Blk spring/1.3x6/30wt/Blk sway bar/14*/2up topfr/2upbotfr/camber hole inner/2mm bump w steering mod. Shocks up/out
Rear= Bronze spring/1.3x6/25wt/silver sway bar/2* toe/3*squat/ camber hole lowest/ shocks up/out w RC8T tower /29mm shafts
Diffs are 3000/10000/2000

Any tips on getting more turn in (off power) would be appreciated.
Quit using 10K center diff oil, that is killing your rotation. 5-5-5 or 7-7-7 work perfectly fine in an RC8e. My RC8/RCM conversion has a damn ton of steering, with the steering mod, RC8T rear shock tower, and the setup hints that Mayfield posted about using that rear tower. Seriously, start with the Worlds setup and Mayfields points about using the truggy tower. Your setup is so far out in left field that no one's really going to be able to help you tweak it further.

We just got back from the Silver State where I was running the RC8E as was Ryan Maifield and Tommi Torikka. We had some good results with Maifield in 3rd, Tommi in 14th, and I finished 5th.

1. Weight distribution is good. We ran the Mamba systems as our new LRP systems failed to show up. The Mamba stuff is heavy but side to side it was not far off. We could have added some ballast to balance the car but did not feel it was necessary.
2. The Silver State track was blown out rough with 35-38 second laps. When you count the 1-2 warm up laps, the last lap, and the 10 minute race, we were running anywhere from 10:40 - 12:00 minutes. With my setup I have run about 15 minutes with 5000 35C 14.8V. At this race we made the time no problem but some of the Losi guys dumped or slowed on the last lap. I know people speak abou super long run times, But I think 15 minutes is the very top for a fast driver with a good car.
3. The car works great., to me it drives like a 1/10 car as far as braking and general are concerned.

Rick, thank you for the feedback on the Silverstate race.

What setup was the team running with?
I'm interested in the diff weights specifically any additional information is appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the report, Rick. The Team setup for the RC8e would be appreciated. Of Course, until the new f/r shock towers are available to us, the setups are probably not of much use to us right now.

I would wait on that mod if I were you. The team guys have moved away from that and are running the new towers which are different than the truggy tower plus they say there is nothing else to do other than change out the tower. shocks and stand offs stay stock. Thats what I read.

Thats the magic question. Wish I knew. I keep reading soon but who knows really. AE is being hush mouthed till they release the new and improved or whatever RC8.

Why do you all prefer a plastic spur instead of a metal one?

It is lighter which is always a plus. But the main reason is that the car is much quieter with the plastic gear.
