Alright, I just purchased a GS Storm RTR (my first ever nitro car) and it is not starting the way it should. Everything else is working fine: the main needle is 3 turns out, the air filter is oiled, the glow starter ignites the glow plug, the carburetor is primed and the pull start is alright. However, I can easily turn the flywheel with my thumb, obviously meaning I am lacking compression. What are some options I can do to my buggy to increase the compression?

when you turn the fly wheel are you sure the piston is turning because it is possible that your fly wheel is loose and that would throw off the timing of the engine and make it very difficult to start.

i had the same prob, the flywheel was slipping on the collet. nitro will raddle some stuff loose. invest in locktite.

yeah check the flywheel if your car is that new it shouldn't be that worn already...

pull a couple shims out from under the cylinder head to reduce combustion chanber at TDC(top Dead Center) which gives u more compression on air/fuel mixture

While you can do that it should only be done if you understand completely what you are doing. You need to maintain a predetermind gap at all times. A good guide line is .006 per 10% of nitro content. I set my .21's at about .020 I prefer to be a little over the line in case of any measuring error. O I forgot to mention I do run 30%
