No worries. I'm not..... Yet. I'll check yours out and then decide. I just have to much invested in the xray with spares and all to even consider changeing at this point.
Anyone know what the actual weight of the roller with the body is as it comes from the factory. Edumakateds lightweigh idea has me intrigued. Thinking that a Neu 1509 motor, Tekin RsPro ESC, and 3s might not be a bad indoor LH setup now that 40C lipos are getting to be common place.

That is about 3/4 pound lighter than my RC8 with similar equipment. My RC8 buggy currently weighs 8lb5oz. I am sure you can make the Ofna even lighter if you put the ESC on the chassis and ditch the tray and receiver box. Looks like this buggy steps up the design of electric 1/8ths another notch.

Thats about .2lbs heavier than my 808 with similar equipment. Hmmmm... May have to rethink this lightweight plan. It might be easier to do with the xray I already have.

Sweet! Take some good pics of the diffs and post them. I hear they are really small. I want to see them. Someone I was talking too compared them to the size of CRT.5 diffs.

Seems like the lightest battery you could go for would be around 320g (11.2oz). That would be a 5S 2600mAh. So that's about 150g saved off the regulars setups, 450-550g seems to be the norm for 1/8 buggy lipos (4-6S).
The 1509 2Y is 1820 KV so it should be pretty efficient on 5S. The finned can version is 225g so that's another good 100g saved, T8s and 1512 are both around 300g. It's hard to compare for sure cause you never know if that includes wire weight or not.
That means you could easily save 250g (0.5lbs). But 5S means you cant really go for a lighter ESC than the RX8 or MMM
If you keep the light theme going everywhere else in the buggy an under 6.5 rtr weight seems very doable. And maybe such a light weight will make a less punchy 1509 motor perform just fine with a lowish amp draw (allows to run 10-15min on 2600mAh). That's of course on a small track geared for maybe 30mph or less.

i know some of you guys dont care about the rules roar layed down. and i dont like a few of them myself.
but they have stated that 7.09 the same as nitro is the min. weight. i personally think it should be higher than that and the last thing would for it to be lower. there is no reason to go out and try to fix something that is not broken.
we now have batteries that are way better and at the same time cheaper, reliable esc and motors and the platforms are for now very durable.
i applaude people thinking outside the box but not just for the sake of trying to change things that dont need changing.

I think that some of those wanting to go the extra light route may prefer to control where the extra weight is going to go. I think you can run some weights right under the center drive shaft. Can't get more centered than that!
Got a call from Fedex this morning. I will be going to pick it up after work today.

The slipperential won't work because of the small spur diameter, which can't be made larger than 40T. The slipperential needs a spur with I think at least a 46T diameter to have room for the pads and the adjuster nut using Mike's current design.
A motor shaft slipper for the pinion on the other hand......hmmmmm.
