Default hyper

hi guys, i am new to the lipo scene. thinking of taking the plunge.

what are your thoughts on this hyper 9e.

are they durable. the stock hyper 9 had so much issues in england, hardly anyone running them now.

theres the new hyper 9 updated coming out. does the hyper 9 e share the same parts as the original version?

thanking in advance

Sorry, I can't. This forum doesn't let me post pics until I have x amount of posts.

BTW I might have the right parts. Do you have to tap #29109? Mine is just about a mm too small for the shock shaft.

Just push hard and thread them on. No tap needed. They're made to be hard to get on, so they don't twist off.

The Proline body will fit and just saw someone with a J Concepts on theirs but did not see what size battery was in there, the Hobao of course works and has alot more upper clearance for batterires, and just posted yesterday was the new BittyDesign Hyper 9 which looks cool they all are great looking bodies and I think they fit the best with a 3s without teaking over the body to one side but that's what I've been running in my 9E. I have also cut down my rear body mount to lower the body for a thiner look from the chassis to the top of the body, if I put a 4s it would not work and I would have to go back to the og mount position.

I used a Medusa 60mm x 2000kv on 4S in my Losi 8E and it worked very well. It ran warm, but never hot. It appears that Medusa still has at least one of the 60x2000 motors.

According to Medusa's site they still have the 60x2000kv in stock, and for a great price.

Scroll down on this page.

5-5-3 front to rear I believe is very common.

If you find you need more rotation, you can try 2K in the rear or even 1K. I was initially running the Hyper 9 nitro diff setup which I believe was 3-5-1 or something to that effect as found on nitrohouse. It had TOO much steering.

Please post your full setup, as well as full gear and track conditions. Also, post what tires and compound that others run on the track that works.

Ok guys I read plenty of pages and did not find much help on gearing a mmm 2650 combo. Does anyone know what size pinion to buy, keeping stock spur gear (40 tooth) or maybe buying another spur gear with more teeth? My main concern is good speed and motor temp. Mostly making sure that I don't overheat my motor. Thanks help is appreciated

Gearing will depend on how much voltage you plan on running, ie 2s, 3s, or 4s, and size of track you plan on running on. With the MMM 2650 and the stock 40 tooth spur, the smallest pinion you can run is a 15t without grinding down the motor a bit. If you plan on running 4s a 15t to 16t pinion will give you good speed, and should keep the temps in check. A good 3s lipo can give you good speeds too. All I have is 3s lipos, and I run them on a med/sm indoor clay track geared with a 16t, and my temps are between 120-150 on both esc (no fan) and motor depending on track layout. I also run 3s out doors on large 8th scale tracks (revelation raceway) geared between 18-20t with similar temps and great speed. Hope this kind of helped.
