Now this should help answer a lot of question's about how the slash will hold up against other company corr trucks, GOOD, if you ask me. I think the truck in third place is TRAXXAS SLASH ! ,and it is half the price of the other ones. I for one will stay with the slash and give those high droller rollers a hand full

As of right now, I guess its not fare to say twice the price, I'm not really sure what the price of the SC10 will be, but I think it will be over priced, like all of AE stuff is.

SC10 is $159 at hobby people
do the math. the SC10 is cheaper once you mod it to run in the sct class.

Math is not one of your strong points is it?

In real round numbers:

Slash $200
Battery$40
Charger$50
AA bats $10

Total $300

SC10 $200
Radio $200
Motor/esc $170
Battery $40
Charger $50
AA bats $10

Total $670

Now you are thinking well I already have X,Y,Z....and yea you might...but the point is you had to already buy them...or perhaps your mommy and daddy bought them for you. The same amount of cash has been spent.

It don't matter a lick to me one way or the other. I will pick up a SC10 as soon as the newness wears off and they have stock on hand. It is too cool a truck not to. I will not be selling the slash anytime soon, but then again I still have my RC500.

I guess you're a little slow on the uptake, but other than the fact that people racing their slashes are also putting out the same money for a radio but slash motor/esc trash rtr combos can be gotten for a dime a dozen on fleaBay. (picked up a pair of each for $25 last week). Maybe you should have gotten rid of your RC500 while it was still worth something.
Otherwise racetruck versus a bashtruck, I suppose you get what you pay for.

if you want to run SPEC class your numbers are right on. If you want to run SCT class then you have to apply all the same numbers to the SLASH as you do to the SC10
IE:
SLASH 179
radio 200
servo 75
ecs & motor 200
$654

SC10 159
radio 200
servo 75
ecs & motor 200
$634
and it can be built MUCH cheaper that this
SC10 $159
Havoc $120
hitec 645mg $39
radio $35
total $353

Good post!!
It always makes me laugh because the same guys that post all the outrageous/higher end prices when they're comparison shopping forgot that they started with RTR CRAP ELECTRONICS in their, some of which they've already replaced or tossed, that carry little or no value.

We have seen the ONE place with the pre order price of 160 for the truck I will give you that.

Where in the world are you finding the Havoc for 120? I would like to order one....the one I bought was 150+tax.

Same with the 35 radio...please give me the link to that.

You also left out batteries charger but thanks for including the servo...I forgot about that.

Then you have to ask yourself who is going to put all that cheap stuff in their truck...execpt for the havoc system...a 35 dollar radio, that was good it made pop come out my nose.

That and you forget that you don't HAVE to have anything but a battery and charger to make the slash go, I see people running the stock traxxas radio, it happens. The rest of it is up to you. However with a kit you HAVE to get everything. Don't get me wrong the slash was the first RTR I have ever bought. I like kits, but the RTR is going to be cheaper, that is one of the pluses to them.

You are living in fantasyland if you think you can put a running SC10 on the track for less then half a grand. It is easy to under estimate the true costs when you already own 90% of the stuff to make the truck go.

I do want to see the link to the $30 radio...must be an Epay AM magnum JR.

While the slash comes with a stock crap RTR electronics, is someone telling me they'd prefer to have that stuff or would you rather have the option of something better? And when you factor in the cost of all that stuff what really is that truck worth, 75-100 bucks tops?
