Default Whats a good brushless/esc combo for racing in SCT mod class

Yes I was wondering what would be a good racing at the track esc /brushless combo to use in the mod corr class such as a SC10 that would not be to overpowering for the track?

well im gonna start with a tekin 10.5 rs system in my sc-10 im thinking for my track thats gonna have plenty of zip on the straight and good torque to clear jumps and be usable power. track conditions i think will play a role in motor selection

Well I was gonna run stock tires at first but I am open to any suggestions that would give me the best hook up on the track. My main track is one that is more of a technical short track that it really has only 1 straightaway.

sounds alot like my track its kinda small and technical with one straight and my track owner will water it between rounds so its got grip stock slash tires would hook pretty good so im assuming the sc10 stockers might be ok. i would run it stock at 1st i heard there will be some aftermarket tires comming out for the sc10 soon after its out.

the guy on the forums from Associated talked about this already. he was running a 13.5 on a tight track and the power was too much. he had a 17.5 in the truck next time out and ran faster times. that was with a stock SC10.

I think w/ the stock block style tires, power will be reigned in and the 17.5 will be good on all but the largest tracks.

Now let's just hope that pin style and grooved tires are not allowed.

I think anyone thinking of racing should refer to the roar rules which state a motor limit of 17.5 (so they're not left high and dry) and at the same time end up with something very driveable instead of a donut machine.

I agree, pinspikes would ruin the class and turn it into a "tire of the week" contest.

From what ive witness at my local track. I dont think the stock tires will do well with anything faster than 13.5. I think a 17.5 will be just as fast or if not faster than the a 13.5. Plus you can gear at 72/26-28 and get the motor closer to the front of the truck.

heres a very short vid I took on my phone....one of two SC10's beat a E-SC8

What tires do you reccommend that would give better traction for a lower turn motor for the SC10?

more classes, less entry. should look at 1 class. every1 was hot on idea of mod slash here, and lets just say we get more mod trucks. 17.5 is more than enuff to have a great realistic fun on real rubber.

im sitting here thinking that i cant remember the last time i ran a 17.5(im 37) i guess ive always ran a mod truck and i ran an 8.5 most of the time. i think alot of the people at my track are thinking a 10.5 for our track. my track to this point is going to do a spec class for slash and then an open sc10/slash class i think thats kind of a good idea as the spec class last summer was huge and we dont wanna upset that and there was alot of people that wanted a modded class so with the addition of the sc10 we now get our wish.
