Building a T4...Help??

I just got into rc racing. im building team associated t4. I purchase the new lrp stock spec esc and the vector x-11 17.5 bl motor. i have a question when it comes to soldering the esc to the motor. Should i only apply heat to the wire or is it ok to heat the motor tabs?? any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Heat motor tabs. You always want to heat the item being soldered indirectly and the the solder will be drawn in if done correctly. You're not going to hurt the motor.

You should Tin the wire and motor tabs, let it cool for a minuet or so and then apply heat to the motor tab and it will liquify. Then put the wire on it and move your iron to the side or on top of the wire( you do not have to PRESS on anything if your iron is good ) It will melt it quickly under its on weight and once you see the wire and tab liquify( this should take only a couple seconds) then take off the iron and let it dry.

You should ALWAYS Tin ANYTHING you plan to solder.
