Slipper clutch problem
Well, kind of a problem,
just got an Xcelorin 6.5T and the slipper in my B4 seems to always be going whether it's on all the way or nearly off, i can't seem to get it so it just let's the car accelerate without screaming for about 20 meters.
Is taking it off an option or am i doing something wrong?
Thanks.

When was the last time you replaced or scuffed up the pads?

looks are deceiving, motor spray them to remove any grease/oil/fingerprints on em. scuff em lightly and resuse. see what u get. that diff should be tight, no barky bark!!! none. if u get some, stop and check diff.

Shall, i keep the slipper and the stock setting when i tighten the clutch or play it by ear?

get the diff right, leave gear cover off. hold 1 wheel and spur with ur thumb, turn the other wheel forward with 2nd hand. if u can turn it, too lose, if u cant turn it with good effort. diff is ok to try (keep monitoring it)
slipper...yes start with setting listed in manual. however ur GOING to loosen it.
take radio in ur hand, sit on left rear tire, hold right rear in ur 2nd hand. hit the throttle with a good blast, car prolly will want to go nose up. too much slipper. 1/4 to 1/2 turn dependin on how aggressive it is. try again. u'll want to get it such that just lifts the front wheels slight off ground. not much more then unloadin the suspension. mind you setting should also be in tune w/the track. more grip, more slipper avail, slick track, u can help urself from spinning and burnin ur meats down by using some slipper.

I use really fine grit sandpaper.
You have a really hot motor you've changed to so you have to be more careful with your slipper adjustments. You can either melt a gear down running it too loose, or even glaze up like it sounds like it is now.
I always try to set mine track side to match the conditions, so it slips off the line the first foot or so. Tighten it if there's more grip on the track, loosen as traction goes away.
But keep an eye on the slipper pads and deglaze every race day.
