Brushless motor timing question?

Currently I have 3 different Novak brushless veloicity motors.

I wanted to buy either the LRP x-12 or the Novak Ballistic motor. They both have adjustable timing.

From what I read adjusting the timing changes the RPM range.

Is it safe to guess that advancing the timing will add to the top end and take away from the bottom, and retarding the timing will add to the bottom end but take away from the top speed?

Can someone confirm or clarify, please.

Sorry if this was a double question, but I didnt see what I was looking for in a search.

Here you go, two dyno tests, one at 0 deg timing and one at 30 deg timing. This is virtual timing however done through the speed control, but it has the same effect.
