losi or AE

should i get the XXX-T MF2, or the CR, or the desert truck. or should i go for an Associated ST, i will be racing every now and then but mostly will be bashing and racing in my freinds backyard?

If your going to race, get the xxx cr. Your slash is Perfect for all your bashing needs.

Anything but the desert truck.

Nothing, but it's not as tough as the Slash. Its based on a race car, the slash is based on a toy. ;)

Another question. Are you looking for a RTR, or a kit where you need to buy all the electronics?

porkey 03-17-2009 08:11 AM

Get that T4. A all around good truck.

Nothing really, but if you're planning on racing occasionally you might not want all the goofy lights and wierd roll cage. I also have to say that I have not been happy with the quality of Losi's stuff ever since Horizon Hobby bought them. I am biased though, being an AE fan boy.

Usually when people say occasionally race, means they will bash mostly, but take it to the trakc every once in a while. Not very competative, just to have fun. The DT is based on the xxx-t, so you can get parts and bodies from the xxx-t and put they on the DT. When you race, you can just take off the roll cage and lights and get a jconcepts xxx-t body.

1 good thing about the desert truck is the DSM 2.4Ghz radio it comes with.....

OG RC 10T 03-17-2009 06:01 PM

For what your looking to do with it they will all work, they are all good.

Your best bet is first buy what your local hobby shop sells because you will need support and parts every now and then.

Second is buy what you like the best, because you are the one who has to enjoy your new RC.

Newbie16 03-17-2009 07:10 PM

hey can the XXX-T body fit on the DT or is there another body i can use if i take the rollcage off (if i get it).

dynodan22 03-17-2009 10:22 PM

The xxxt body will fit on there fine. The whole DS is based off an XXXt

Well, not exactly. The DT has different front and rear shock towers, same as the Speed-T....you would have to get the XXX-T ones to get a stock XXX-T body to fit on their correctly.

Rear DT shock tower does not have any body mounting posts at all. The front shocktower is more raked back, and has Grey body adapters bolted to it.

but the XXX-t towers should fit fine on there?
