Default So I was thinking about getting a Mamba for my Slash....

I had one in my RC18T, but it cogged really bad, was a while ago...

Did they ever "find a way" around this? Biggest reason I'm thinking of getting one for the slash is because I'm low on cash, and Tower has the Easy Pay on them, and there is a race coming up I'd like to throw it in.

I just don't want to get this thing and want to throw it in the garbage.

The Mamba Max with the new firm ware is smooth as glass. There are a few guys at my track running them in the slash with great results. You just need to tame it down a bit.

If your low on cash check out the vxl system.
The mamba is a great system is you use it with the right batteries. THen it wont cogg.

Yes this is a great combo. This way you get programmability and vxl reliability.

So lets just say I want to stick this thing in my B4 or T4, I should go with the 4600kv right? I run 2s lipo, so I really dont want anything balls to the wall.

Think the 4600kv will run well in all 3 vehicles and not be insane?

My 18T was hell on wheels, couldnt keep it on the track with that mamba.

If you are racing the b4 and t4 don't get a 4600. This is overpowered. Most guys at my track just use a novak 10.5 with a 2 cell lipo. The 4600 will be great in a slash though.

i think the 4600kv is a little much for the slash but for a b4 or b44 it would be perfect

+1 what snowboard said, 4600 was undrivable in my t4 with nimh cells.
slash will need better rubber if you go any faster than the stock motor.

we run lrp sphere and novak 10.5 at our track

Even if I gear it down like a grandma? I dont see any reason to drive something that goes faster than 40mph down the straight.

In a b4 you would probably be going around 55-65 with that motor and esc on a 2 cell lipo. If you gear in down to low you will overheat the esc and motor. The 4600 is a great race package for the slash just not a b4 or t4.

Depends on the layout of your track. You might want more power.

I run a Mamba Max 4600 combo in my GV2T 1/10 scale stadium truck. the motor has A LOT of power on the low end. I would say if you have a heavy throttle finger, you may want to look elsewhere.

I'm running a 8.5t hobbywing BL motor rated at 4000kv, and it's a perfect fit for my Slash. Just fast enough to still be fun. I'd probably say it's an honest 30MPH, and no more than 35Mhp with the stock gearing 86t/18t (spur might be off but I think its an 86). I could probably get it to do about 45-50 with gearing and maybe a 3S lipo... but that's just not fun to me.
