I have the MM V3 and Spektrum DX3s radio. If I set the MM v3 punch setting at 0 can I control the punch via the punch option on the radio? Or do i need to set the punch control thru thru the MMV3.

your best bet would be to set it through the castle link and fine tune through the radio...
