Mamba 4600 system. Plenty fast on 6-cells. A screamer on 7-cells but still somewhat controllable.

Runtime will all depend on the capacity of the batteries. Get some decent 4600mah and you should see runtimes around 20-30 minutes I'd imagine. I got around 20-25 with my 4000mah lipo and stock gearing.

I had a Speed Passion 13.5 w/ Core-RC 3250 lipo in mine before I sold it, the Slash!

Faster than a stock Slash! Jumped better, turned better, ran longer.

New owner is running a 4000 lipo in it with a Speed Passion motor/esc.

Novak havoc would be a cost effective set up in a slash.

why its controllable with 3S lipo on a 5700kv Mamba
but 4600 would be better for a non racing slash

nce71, a mamba system costs the same as the novak system that you speak of and it is also less powerful than the mamba although Novak is the O.S. of electric motors. A 5700kv would have a longer run time than your 4600kv.

You mean more run time on the 4600 then the 5700?

No mention of the Velineon VXL?? as far as a brushless setup for bashing I think it takes the cake as far as cost, power and reliability. Just my $.02

I have the XVL and plan to race it, and bash, as our indoor track is a mix of both, don't want one of my soldering jobs coming undone...

Circuit boards - can solder very well
Wire to flat metal - impossible for me

if you are just out for bashing you wont need anything more than a vxl. This is a very simple brushless system to set up and can propel your slash on a 3-cell lipo to over 60+mph. Mamba motors are more for racing because of such great programmability and tuning.

Bashing--vxl

Racing--Mamba 4600
