Stats:

Body is 1/16" thick hard plastic (rigid, but lightweight), and pretty much everything is screwed together, so dismantling either for conversion, or painting is pretty simple.

Suspension is solid axle front and rear with 6 plastic shocks and metal springs.

Front steering has a trim adjustment for alignment.

Working lights all the way around, which would be a nice touch to any project, and its already done for you.

Wheelbase is 9 3/4"
Track width 9 3/4"
Length 17 1/4"
Height 12"
Body width 7 3/4"
Sealed gearbox (rear axle) 2 speed
Full canvas canopy (nice touch)
Detailed interior
Colors: silver body/silver bed, or orange body/silver bed.
Removable bumpers
Tires: 4 3/8" tall, 2 5/8" wide
Pistol grip radio, 49MHz, (9v battery included)
10v 850 mAh NiCad battery (rechargeable)
220v ac/dc adapter/quick charger (UK style plug) Requires converter.

The battery charger needs one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/UK-220-110-VOLTS...QQcmdZViewItem

I'm unable to run one without the voltage converter, but I plan to pick one up tonight. If you want one I can get some and I'll eat the shipping.

This is a pretty damn cool looking model, and I think a few special touches, and custom paint (or not) and we'll have some of the coolest Mogs around! Joe can't have all the fun. LOL The bed is plated to look like metal (aluminum) and it looks pretty authentic.

Looking at the under structure where the suspension is attached it appears that the attachment site is very much shaped like the side frames of the Cr-01, and its possible with a little ingenuity, and some structural support (possible attachment of the CR-01 side rails themselves) that the CR-01 suspension could be bolted up right to the undercarriage. Its also possible due to availability that Axial suspension and drive train could work just as well for a really cheap mod.

It was necessary to buy a crate of 6, so I have 2 orange, and 2 silver available, and am keeping 1 of each for myself!

The Unimog has to be one of the coolest vehicles ever built by Mercedes:nod:
