Default Novak 8.5 Brushless with Castle Sindewinder ESC

As the title says, will this motor work with the ESC?

I've read about issues with sensored motors cogging with sensorless ESC's, but that usually appears at higher winds apparently.

Can I just unplug or coil up the sensor wire and go for it?

Thanks for your help

Yes it will hook up. But you can have cogging issues. You can just forget about the sensor wire. What are the porblems you heard about on the sensor set up.

My friend has 8.5t Novak and it cogs a little bit with Sidewinder. It's okay, but not as smooth as Castle's own motors are.

The best bet is to use the 8.8 with a sensored system or use the Sidewinder with the Castle 4600kv motor or the Tekin line of sensorless motors. That way you will get the best performance possible out of your system.

Some people do run the lower winds with little to no problems but it is always best to use Sensorless with sensorless motors and sensored with sensored motors to get your best performance.
