losi xxx4 temp problem

i have a mamba max 6900kv motor and esc and the motor esc and battery are getting hot and was wondering if its the gearing and if anyone could tell me what is a good setup that would be good. it has a 25pinoion and 92 spur and with a lipo its crazy fast.

well my friend has the 7700 mamba and he runs 16 pinion and 92 spur and his gets only warm... so i would think like around 18 on the pinion

k thanks ill try that and hopefully its still fast.

I can imagine how hot yours is getting.. my buddies 7700 on his mf1 we think is getting the transmission very hot thus heating up the diff gear and making the diff balls waller it out easily and strip it out from the inside out... with him running a 18/86

I'd suggest a 15 or so... I run a 16 and with a 18 it gets a little warmer but a lot faster :)......

Hows your buggy holding up besides the temp issue? belt working alright, looking at getting one but didn't know how it would hold up with the brushless in there..

sounds like u are geared to high. I ran 94/18 and it came off 100 degrees.

I run about 17 or 18 with a 94 when I race with a 5700, and it is about right.

i know im geared to high because of my temps and with a lipo it goes 60++++ but it gets to hot but its holding together fine, had a few high speed spils but other than that its a sweet buggy. and the belt sliped a little but after a little adjusting she has never since.

Plan on running my xxx4 g+ with an orion 6.5 motor and a 94 spur gear. Running a high bite clay track, ground pink tapers, and track has speed sections as well as a couple technical spots. Just wandering if somone could point me in a direction of pinion size to try first. Thanks.

17 would be a good spot to start.
