Temperature
I've got a Speed T set up for Off Road and wanted to know how hot is too hot for my motor and ESC? My speed control doesn't get very hot at all, but the motor and spool gear area get burning hot. This is after 20 mins of 60 mph runs up and down my street...

Losi says that the motor should be no greater than 160-170 degrees.... You really should buy or borrow a temp gauge to measure where you are at. A lot of the heat may be from the wrong gearing for where you are running.. or tire slip.. You should be able to get a pretty fast speed using the 4800kv motor running off-road.. but it won't be as fast as the street. Traction is a big factor. Are you running the "locker" diff or diff balls? This will affect your traction bigtime in offroad. The locker will create a lot of extra tire spin in the corners.

I see. I got a ball diff in. I just have the stock gearing right now, I want to try to tweak it a bit to allow it to run cooler, but I don't know much about gearing... Thanks for the help guys, I'll hit up the LHS tomorrow after school...

sounds like you need a temp gun
