1/8th Scale motors, heat sinks and fans
Just a few thought here- If you have an electric buggy/truggy/revo/etc. and you HAVE to put a heat sink and a fan on the motor in reality how effecient and or good is the setup? If the system overheats without them then is it actually set up correctly? If fan craps out or the heat sink comes loose then one winds up toasting the motor? Why push the motor to its thermal limits and hope that the fan and heat sink save the day, day in and day out?

but in reality you don't need a fan, but a heatsink does help alot

I look at it this way. If your system is running safe at 160 drgrees but you can lower its temps with a heat sink or a fan on the ESC, then lower the temp even more. The cooler an Electric motor runs the better it performs. Most don't use these option to keep from thermaling, but to keep the temps well under control. Running back to back packs bashing can add more and more heat on the system after each consecutive pack, but if your setup if wrong, or under powered for the size of the vehicle the your going to have heat issues no matter what.
