Kyosho Lazer zx5 or Losi xxx4g+
Thinking about getting a 4wd elec. buggy. I am goning to run lipo and bl.
Which would you recommend and why? Or other? I am more for durability.

I always have preferred Losi vehicles, but I like the ZX-5 buggy. I heard a rumor on here somewhere that alot of the Kyosho people are org from Losi as well....be nice if someone could confirm that.
EDIT:
Oh, I just think that a shaft drive setup is far less maintenance and durable than a belt drive. However I just love the sould of a belt setup.....but just a personal preference.

I love my Lazer and would highly recommend it to anyone. But parts support is an issue if your track doesn't car Kyosho parts.
I didn't have a good experience with the XXX4 years ago when I tried one, but it still appears to be capable in the right hands. A couple of the fastest guys at my track run for Losi and they have their XXX4s flying.
It all comes down to what you want and what kind or parts and set up support you can get at your local track. You can ask this question 100 times and get 100 different answers. At the end of the day, it is your decision to make.

We have a very good lhs here, and they would stock what i need. I am leaning more towards the lazer, but am not 100% convinced.

The lazer is very strong. If your looking for durabilty being a factor then the kyosho is the one for you. That and the box setup is really good.
Both aren't bad though.
The lazer SP is loads beter then the reg. one.

My vote goes for the ZX-5 if you're looking for durability. I would at least go for the ZX-5 SP. If you're budget is tight, then you can go for their RTR. It's freaking cheap for what you get!

The Kyosho is a great car and another option would be the B44. Both are great and are very competitive buggies. XXX4 was very brittle in my opinion. Hopefully Losi will release a new 4wd one of these days.

I have had both. I found the losi to be very fragile, even with a 19t brushed setup.
My lazer zx-5 sp is much more durable and I'm running it on 2s and 3s lipo with a mamba 5700 system in it. I have found 3 weak spots with a bl setup in it, 2 are fixed.
1) The shock towers and tower mounts. I went with 4mm cf towers and pn racing 7075 mounts and that has been problem free.
2) the suspension arm holders crack when cartwheeling at over 40 mph. i replaced with pn racing aluminum holders, and been problem free.
3) the front caster blocks - no upgrade for the SP model, pn racing has 7075 ones for the rtr though.

Whats the biggest difference between the sp and non-sp?
