Default 2wd buggy rears rules?

Are there any rules out there that would prevent you from running 4wheeler fronts in the rear? I want to try them out in stock on high traction tracks.

At SoCal, I used to see a bunch of people running the 4wd front Holeshot on a 2wd rear wheel. On a real smooth track, it will work nicely. Much less sidewall flex.
