B44 stock brushless fdr?

Ok folks I have recently switched froma zx-5 to a b44. I have taken the same brushless setup from the zx-5 and put it into the other car. It is a novak gtb/velociti 17.5 combo. I used to run the zx-5 @ 5 fdr and figured it would be the same in the b44 as they have the same diff ratio. But alas it isnt performing the same, the car has less punch and less top end. The only thing I have changed is going from a 72/36 combo to a 69/34-35. Is it much better to run a bigger pinion spur combo say a 78/39?

try getting your fdr closer to 5.5-6 with 4wd buggies on 17.5 5 FDR is a little too much. I set up my buddies b44 with a 76/34 combo on a med size track it ran around 120 degrees with good punch and top end.

Yeah just seems a bit weird as with a 5 fdr in the kyosho it was fastest.
