6,7, or 8 cell?
This is for the people running nimh on there slashes. Which do you prefer? 6,7, or 8 cell packs? Right now im only running 6 cells and it is pretty fun but id like to move up to either 7 or 8. Is there really a big difference going to 8 cells?

The bigger the voltage the better, although the weight of the NiMh packs bites into your advantage. The XL 5 is rated to 9.6v and I have to assume there is a safety margin. I only run LiPos in everything, but I pretty much only run brushless too.
For the cost of an 8 cell grab one, if the speedie fries they're not that pricey either.

That's good to know. I'm running brushless on my SLASH and don't have the funds to invest in LIPOS. So I'll be running NIMH for awhile. Guess I'll just go with the 7cells. Does it matter what kind I get? What am I looking for when purchasing batteries?
Been looking all over the place for a STICKY or Tutorial on this forum, but can't find anything.

I run 7-cell NiMH (at least right now) because I had a bunch of loose cells laying around to make up a couple packs. My truck is just a little bit faster than ones running LiPos but I've seen the average voltages of the new SMC 40C+ Lipos and they look like they would even things up when factoring in the weight.
