I second the Mamba Max. There are advantages and disadvantages to all the systems, but I can tell you first hand, Castle stands behind their products. They repaired a connector for me without charge and upgraded the connectors to newer connectors. I met them all and they are good people for sure.

Default Slash brushless

If you wont the baddest, i think the mamba monster max would be the fastest brushless system. But it would blow the tires off the 2wd slash.

mamba monster and a the largest neu motor that will fit. they are expensive but are worth every penny. i clocked 52mph on my e-revo using one of those and 4s lipos. just don't kill your tires.

The MMM and 2650 or 2200 would be your best bet, but kiss your u-joints and tires

a MM with the 5700 on 3s would do fine in a slash.

OK.... Here is what I did. I bought a traxxas VXL brushless system. I know it is not the best but with the money I saved I bought Beadloc's with switch tires and BigBore shocks, I still have $$$ left over for the Lipo that will be here fri. Thanks for all the help! here is a pic. I have not installed the brushless yet in the pic.
