Best 1/8 scale brushless system for around $250
I have an e-maxx and want to convert it to brushless. I was looking at the novak 4.5 and was wondering if there are any better options for the same price.
I will be running a 2s lipo and i wont the e-maxx to have extreme power. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yeah, that Mamba Monster ESC is a beast, a 2200 kV motor will really haul with a 4S Lipo, and you've got Castle Creations backing both of them up with their great customer service. I think you can't go wrong. I've been running the MM ESC in my converted brushless Revo and love it.

Speed Passion
The new Speed Passion 1/8 scale system is now available and the best part about it is..... It's sensored!
I have a Mamba Monster and it is to say the least harsh. I am afraid evertytime I yank the trigger I am going to rip my car apart. I will soon be replacing my Mamba Monster with a new Speed Passion system. Don't quote me on it but I think it retails for less than the Mamba and It comes with it's own programming box, Nice!!!!
If you are interested check with the guys at Schumacher in the U.S. they are distributors for it.

Has there been any negative experiences with those Hobbywing ESCs? Provided those things arent' prone to going up in smoke seems like you could put a 4S capable system together for $200. Thinking along the lines of their 80 amp ESC for $75 and go to Medusa for a 36-60-2200V2. Maybe an e-maxx would be up towards the upper limits of a power package like that though. Going up to the 150amp ESC and maybe a 70 can medusa would still be under $250, but yeah at that point you are closing in on eBay Mamba Monster system territory.

i'd be prepared with more cash as this type of class is still having lots of RnD done in terms of folks blowin stuff up. their cool as hell, but its still gonna cost for a while.
