The FANTOM engine line is about average in performance. Solid engines but nothing to write home about.

...depends on your driving and tuning skills.

you can go faster with a so so engine and you can go slow with a insanely fast engine......

guys are using rear exhaust engines....the kind use in on road touring cars........

I go for the OS CV engines or maybe a CVR....reliable and cheap....just the right amount of power that can keep my truck controllable.

O.S. cv is a perfect truck engine it works very well. I have seen the fantom team driver do very well with their engines to I do know they have potential but I have also seen your average guy have problems with them. They are fairly cheap give it a try

No its fantom, they are good engines from what i can tell. they run a little hot and the first ones a couple years ago had crappy carbs but the fr3's are ok. this all that i have noticed at the track i dont own one

Actually I do own a FR12r-02 NP/S side exhaust in a Losi XXX-NT and it does make some good power, so much that I use the smallest carb restrictor AE sells and still have enough power to lose control. This is the ABSC engine, and not the ABC, with the old style rotary carb. In retrospect I think a OS CV-R would have been a better choice but the Fantom was $20 less.
