New B4 Build .... how did I do?
Ok, this is my first post, but after racing a couple weekends with my cough bandit cough I realized that I needed something better.
Uncle Everitt let me run his Losi XXX and use his Spectrum radio and I have to say wow what a difference.
So, I just Ordered the following and will be assembling it for next weekend.
1 Factory Team Associated B4 Kit
1 Spectrum DX3R
2x Orion 300 SLPB 30c Lipo Batteries 3800mah
1 Onyx 230 Charger
1 Hitec HS-5985MG Coreless Digital Servo
1 6.5 Turn Novac brushless with esc combo
Other than the time to put it together and dial it in, what else do I need? Did I buy the right stuff? Should I be a bit more competitive with this equipment than I was with the bandit?

If you have only raced a couple of weekends then I would try a Stock motor. 27T brushed or a 17.5 BL motor. I am willing to bet you will get frustrated "trying" to control a 6.5. I have been racing for about six months and can barely control a 13.5 motor.
I mean if you can handle it then I say go for it but I hate to see you get frustrated and quit a fun hobby because you spent so much time spinning the tires on the track.

Get a set of various pinion gears (smaller than stock, of course). Good set of tools, few extra tire/wheel sets, spring sets, few different shock oils, spare B4 Spoiler/wings which will get banged up. Get a good car stand to work on it too. The 10.5 or 7.5 motor may be right for this buggy. 6.5 is good for 4wd cars typically.

So where was it that Uncle E let you borrow the XXX? Was that the pretty pink XXX at CRCRC yesterday?
I would recommend the 13.5, or a 17.5 depending on where you are racing, and what the "Stock" class requires.
I also suggest the XXX Losi car over the B4 if you are just starting out. I feel that the Losi car is easier to drive than the B4. Just my opinion and my experience over the past several years.

if it goes below 13.5, he might have to start gettin into that adaptor that speedtech sells so to get the gear ratio he needs.
10.5 or 13.5, especially if the motor could do double duty in a touring car (if u do that).
