charging batteries

hello I'm still using ni-cad and nimh batteries. what is the delta peak threshold setting on my battery charger for and what is the best setting. I'm having trouble will false peaks on older cells. batteries were cycled and discharged prior to storage. all cells are individual and assembled into packs. any help would be appreciated.

What kind of charger do you have.

I have 2 chargers, one is the purple mrc superbrain and the other is a pirahna computerized peak charger

For NiMH packs delta peak is usually set at 5 on your MRC. Try setting the amps to lower than maximum. Maxxing the amperage tends to trigger false peaks.

With the pirahna it probably doesn't matter what you set it at. Just keep restarting the packs when they false peak until they hit 120 degrees farenheit.

If your packs have been in storage for longer than 6 months, they'll probably require several cycles to come back to normal behavior. The first cycle should be at low amps (1-3).

For peak charging settings, you would have to look at your user guide.

I have my ice charger set 200MAH. This is the highest it can go in peak charge.
