what is the greatest number of turns i can use on a XP2 without frying it?

I believe ive seen micro motors only go down to a 14t brushed motor. you could try the 14.. run it a few laps then check motor and esc temps. You should be able to touch your esc and motor for 3 seconds, if you cant touch the esc/motor for 3 sec then you know within another few laps everything is gonna over heat. Oh yeah, make sure you buy the little stick on heat sink from associated to keep your esc temp down when running those mod motors
