It sounds like the gears are grinding but it's not like its runing on 2 of the 3 phase

I am running a brand new Futaba hv s9352 w thunder power 4s; Spektrum sr3500 micro rx. Getting a lot of steering glitching. I guess I will try another servo, I have a bls351 that Iv'e never had issues with. Just got a couple seasons on it. Surprised I'm getting this glitching from a hv servo, I thought they were supposed to handle the high amounts of power that comes with elec. 8th scale.

@Jeremy
Is the T8i about the same weight as the HD? If so... T8i is the motor. If the HD is lighter, is it enough to be a benefit considering power to weight?
T8i: 274g

Pro 4 HD: 221g

Even with the weight savings from the Pro 4 HD, the T8i has a longer rotor and stack providing more power where the 1/8 buggy will benefit more with.

Sounds it's cogging. Does it only do this in low speed corners for example?

On your battery are you using bullets(solid or basket style) or deans?

Are you using the Rx8 Gen1 or Gen 2?

The HV servo is rated for 7.4v so if you're using a Gen1 esc you're over loading the BEC.

If it's Gen2, make sure you use a Hotwire and turn on the HV bec in the "setup" tab.

bummer. It is a gen 1 rx8. I will put in a castle bec I used to use. This should work, & eliminate the glitching? Or should I just use a regular servo? Thanks for the help Randy.

50g isn't a ton.. but it is 50g. For the really small track he's talking about, the HD may be the ticket. I ran the HW 4 pole in my 6.8# Mugen SCT (rtr no body) and I hear the HD has a little more grunt. That 1/10 motor hauls butt even with the weight.

But then if you go to any other track you'd wish you got the T8i, maybe the HD would be too much of a specialty build and not worth the $$$ to find out.

Just a thought since I run 1/10 motor in basically a 1/8 on 2s.

I had an RX8 that would always get full of dirt. I usually tear it apart to clean it but is there an easy way to prevent or reduce the dirt entering it?

Both would work. Do you run 2 2s packs or a single 4s pack? OR 2s SCT?

You can use clear silicon to plug any holes, etc. If it's fine dust you'll never keep it all out. Best thing is to open it up from time to time, blow it out with compressed air. Take it apart over a towel so you don't lose the buttons

I've seen caged 4mm plugs cause many of an intermittent problem under loads, etc. Do yourself a favor and swap them out if you have any issues.

Hi All,

I did a search and this seemed like the best place to put this.

My Tekin T8 2050Kv motor seized up on me last Sunday. I was coming down the straight 2 laps into my main and all 4 wheels locked up. I had steering but no throttle.

I got back to the pits to find it would not roll.

Now the motor is over 3 calender years old, but I only put about 3 - 3 1/2 hours a year total ( yes, you read that right....3+ hrs a year.) on my equipment.

I only get out on race days and run my three 5min quals and my 10 min main.

I race about 6 races a year.

It has never been over heated and well taken care of. I'm just about to open it up and take a look.

Any guesses???
