I just checked them and everything is fine. I turned the ESC on again and the led 1&2 and 6&7 are blinking (error message of a wrong motor type selected) and the ESC is doing a regular little noise like a "t t t " with a one second interval. I don't want to accelerate with the transmitter as it fried my last RX8 when doing so.

I also checked if it's the BEC but it's not, I connected the red wire coming from the ESC instead of the BEC and it's doing the very same. The other thing is that I didn't change my setup since a long time and was always running with reasonnable temps and had no problem at all for now so it's not related to a change of lipo, servo, BEC or whatsoever.

An interesting thing but it might not have any relation is that when I connect the RX8 with no external BEC the servo acts VERY slowly (it's a HV savox).

Now I will try with another T8 1400kv and with a "normal" servo (not high voltage). But there was a blitz before the ESC displayed the error message. It happened when I connected my lipo before I turned the RX8 on. So something must have gone wrong with the controller.

If your servo is slow your BEC may be the issue. If it can't supply the Rx8 with enough power either, it won't "power" up the FET's and it can throw this code.

Use a volt meter or a receiver pack to test.

Has anyone sent in a RX-8 when in has been out of warranty??? Trying to figure out the cost of repair for one. I have one left that is still running. It was run in a friends car and he told me that the BEC feels like it is going bad.

Mine with a bec and wobbly negative post cost about $45. Pretty sure there is a general repair price list on the rma or warranty page... somewhere.

I'd go to the source for this answer. Oh, that's right, everything on the internet is true!

The kevlar wrapped ones are the only rotors made for the T8 motors. The picture you posted is a 2 pole rotor. Or are you asking about the sc4x 550 motors?

That's for the 1/10 Redline Gen 1 motor series.

I did a forum search and didn't come up with anything.

My question is what number values are associated with each setting on the RX8? It says Drag Brake 1-13, but what are the %'s? 1 means "OFF", but what do 2-13 mean? It's the same for Brake Strength, Limiter and Neutral Width. Is each number 5%, or 10% or ??? I really don't want to purchase a Hotwire if I don't have to. I'm only a casual racer.

I read and re-read the manual, and couldn't find it. Does anyone know, or know where I can find this information?

Or can anyone give me the corresponding #'s to the following set-up?

Drag Brake - OFF
Brake Strength - 80
Limiter - 80
Neutral Width - 15

Please give me the settings (1-13) for each of these, or something close.

Thanks

Led 1 is 0 in hotwire and 13 is 100. Each step on the LEDs represents ~8.3, so for 80 on the limiter and brake strength you'd want led 10 or 11. Led 3 would get you pretty much right on 15 for NW.
