Sorry if that doesn't make sense.

LED's will ramp up on ESC like normal rotation if you run motor type 7. Don't need to reverse throttle direction in radio.

It seems no matter which mt I use (3 or 7) I need to reverse the throttle channel on the radio to get the desired result. My radio is futaba 3pl. Does that sound right?

Edit: I searched around and it seems with futaba you need to reverse the throttle channel in the radio.

You are correct. Futaba does require throttle to be reversed.

I just installed a Futaba also with the same issue.
I did have a Spectrum in it & was fine. I had to reverse both steering & throttle now it seems half power in forward. When I switch it back so the brake is throttle I get tons of forward power.

My question is, do I now have to reprogram the ESC with the hotwire ?
I believe now it is using the brake profile as the throttle profile, & vice versa.

OR

Do I have to reverse rotate the motor direction in Hotwire & go back to normal setting on Futaba ?

I checked epa for throttle is maxxed..

I don't run futaba but a few posts back it seems you reverse the tx and run the esc normal.

Simple question, but I didn't see it mentioned so I'll ask...
Did you recalibrate after all of those changes?

When on throttling forward, does it go immediately to reverse and from reverse to forward there's a delay?

No reverse, just brake, & it goes hard to brake.
Recalibrate the ESC ? No...
I read those posts a few times...
I did just notice and figure out to adjust epa you have to pull the trigger.. Doh !
That may be it, will have to try it tomorrow..

Thanks fq...

May be as easy as that.
Settings on radio when calibratting should be:
Throttle trim zero, throttle & brake dual rate zeroed out.
Throttle and brake end points max.
Throttle and brake expo at zero.
No curves, no tweaks, just a neutral setting for everything trigger related on the radio.

Once you calibrate you can put your expo and whatever back to how you like it.

No need to reflash on hotwire unless that doesn't do the trick. If no help maybe a reset on the esc... forgot how that's done but it should be in the manual.

Happy motoring

My gf ran a 5S 3700mah lipo with the same motor and had the same voltage left running a MMP.

It means we should reach 25 minutes racing with a standard lipo (about 500g) which is GREAT. Love the T8 so much, massive gain in runtime compared to all the motors we've tested before. And the temps are very good too: 140 max temp on the T8 and 110 on the RX8 (no fan) after the last final.
Congrats, those temps are really good.

I have a question, I got hit so hard on the side of my sct that it pulled my rx8
off the 2 sided tape and pulled a wire off the motor. I re-soldered it and I noticed the fan would move a hair and stop after I turned it on. Doesn't the fan run a few seconds after you turn it on then stop or I'm I thinking some other brand esc when you 1st turn it on?
