Well our track is almost complete. It helped having a tractor with a bucket for all the jumps. Anyways long story short we used my 8ight as the test machine for the new jumps since all I needed to do was plug the battery in. The RX8ight took a beating but never missed a beat. At one point I thought it did let go but for some reason all I had to do was turn my radio off and then back on. I even let some of the nitro guys try it. I could hear them burping the electric lol. And if that wasnt bad enought my gf wanted to try it. So I wasnt going to say no. She tried to do a lap lol. She had a hard time with the steering(if I would of reversed the steering she would of been fine!) so she bang into alot of stuff. It was funny. All in all a good long day at the track. I am beat but my RX8ight 2.0 still runs!
Thanks Tekin!

Hey, i need some opinions on this system.

Im planning on running an RX8 2000kv motor and ESC combo in my Savage flux although im not to sure if its the correct combo, as they state that theres only a Buggy version and a Truggy version, but have been told to get the truggy version.

Can i run the Truggy combo in my Savage Flux?

Also, i have been told to run big C ratings with my batterys something like 35C plus as if the C Rating is to low the batterys warm up.
Im looking at getting 2x Intellect 5000mah at 7.4v with a rating at 40C or 2x Trinity 5200mah with a rating at 35C and is also 7.4v.

Is this true or can i run what ever battery i like, and which would be the best out of those to, would rather more run time then power?

What gearing can i run with my Savage Flux, it has a 44t Spur and it runs with big joe wheels 40 Series. I want it geared for general bashing and to get the most out of my batterys?

Thanks

You can run the truggy combo, it will fit. It's also the system I'd reccomend.

What battery power do you plan on running? This will determine what system/motor to reccomend.

Check out the stock gearing for the new Savage BL truck, that should get you in the ball park. Most likely a bit lower since you're running those Big Ars tires! LOL

Randy, I need some help

I have gone through tons- literally.. 12 Mamba monsters, through all the revisions, and all have ended up with stupid little stuff like chips falling off the board...

So I decided to try the Rx8 out. I have just the esc running a neu 1515 1y, 4s 5000mah 30c Flight power lipo in a 8ight buggy geared 14/48...

Buggy ran flawless for three heats. no problem- 3leds on the esc. very smooth in sensorless. So Ended up starting the main and have the esc fade on me. stared off very mild, I would lose throttle entirely and it would come back in, and it got progressively worse. I brough the car in the pit and all was well, all looked well. put it back on the track and rolled down the pit ramp and lost all throttle. LEDs on the esc still respond to throttle and brake inputs, temp sensor works, BEC works. but no arming tone, or motor movement.

Whats the prognosis?

-Ben

Was only the third pack on the esc. received it last thursday

I will be running 2x 7.4v batterys at 5000mah with a C rating of either 35c or 40c?

So what motor do you think i should run?

Just wanted to post a VERY successful day at the races with the RX8. I run Sportsman and a buddy runs Expert. What started as him wanting to try out an e-buggy, turned in to him running in the expert class with my car, which I was more than happy to let him do. My buggy was put through the wringer today with back to back heats all day between sportsman and expert. And the mains were back to back as well so as fast as I could do a battery swap, the car went back out for more abuse. Very impressive! I have complete faith in Tekin after today. Good s h i t!!

Just got the Tekin installed and running today. Was only running a 2S in a SC8E and it was alright. I will be running 4S tomorrow and it should be sweet. This is my first 1/8th scale build and first 1/8th scale ESC. So I took it easy. Anyone have any setups for this combo that works good on the track.

RX8
T8 2250Kv.
4S 5400mah
SC8E

If anyone has this combo and can set me up it would be appreciated. I am a newb racer so I want it to be controllable but still run with the big boys.

6s is the max voltage on any of the Tekin 1/8th motors and ESC's

Amperage is dependant on your setup.

Not sure of the max safe temperatures myself..

RPM is dependant on what voltage you use.

Pinion and spur needs testing to find out the best temps.

Had my Races this weekend. The System worked fine and it took me to a winning position! After the race I drove some test laps and suddenly my car was uncontrolleble on the long straight. No steer, no brakes...Jumped out of the track into the fence. After a check i noticed that my RX8 had caused this problem. There is a bad connection somewhere inside because when i pull at the power cables it will go on and off.....
This is my second RX8 that failed in one month. I hope that i will recieve my First broken unit soon back from the support.
My next Race will be the 27 sept and I want to be there with a working unit.
I'm going to send a mail again.....

Have you mounted the ESC directly hard on the chassi, maybe will help having some absorb material under it to prevent silly things like that. Just a thought.

Would I be able to run a 2050 Kv truggy setup in my SC8e with 2x 2s 3200mah 25c batteries or will I end up puffing the packs?

I think it would be a bit heavy for your batteries. (3,3*25=80Amps max amp draw) Driving time will be to short also for racing.

Maybe 2x5000 35-40c will be more safe 5.0*35=175A 5.0*40=200A

I use the Hyperion VXG3 5500 35C batteries with my 2250truggy motor. Max themps are 30-35 degrees celcius (outside temp: 20)
