Thanks for the reply, I was going to call during the week but it is sunday here and I wanted to play with my new toy Tried connecting/disconnecting a few times but no joy and its got the latest software.

Anyway, I put it in the car and soldered it all up and it works fine, well actually, awesome. I was able to program it pushing buttons, the only problem I am going to have is that I have it reverse rotation and the only reverse rotating option has reverse gear which I cant race with. But that is not a problem at the moment. I will be in touch later

Thanks

Pat

Ok so I did what I was told to do by your tech service by switching the A and B over to reverse the rotation of the motor since my ESC since my repaired ESC does not have the code 7 and went to Milestone park to run at the JBRL event on Sunday but I could not even put 5 minutes of practice with my car. I tried two ways 2s and 4s and still could not run the car without shutting the motor off the servo was working but the motor would stop at certain areas of the track, had a run to a jump and the motor shut off right at the jump and fell out of the air upside down and I landed right on the wing into the face of the jump and broke the shocktower in half people said it thermaled but the temp was 120 and I only managed a couple of laps so I knew it was not a thermal problem.

My system just does not work at all, so I'm home today and not racing and not representing Ofna along with my teamate because his ESC was being repaired also, my boss told me to go with the Mamba system and I was being stubborn because I thought I was getting a far better system and one of my managers has been running his 9e at West Coast rc over and over again and has been waiting for me to go run with him and he just laughs at the fact that I'm still down.

So I guess I need to send everything back again for the full check up again beacause the fan is still not working along with the 2 problems that I have now. Mine is a lemon please help me with problem I wish to get this thing running without any problems, it seems people are likng the product but I'm on the other side of the window. I've been more than patient when I call to get answers and I get alot of oops answers and I've had other products not work out of the box on the first day and needed to send it back and problem was resolved on the first repair but this is the has been my most frustrating product I have delt with.

I was witness to this yesterday the car did infact keep cutting power after about 5 minutes of running and was still cold enough for me to place my fingers on it for several seconds. I wish you luck DJ hopefully the esc will come back working for ya this time

I'm confident your unit didn't thermal in 5 minutes, thats near impossible. What may have happened is that a voltage cutoff setting could be wrong, possible a loose connection.

The fan will only come on when it needs to. 120 isn't hot enough for the fan to come on yet.

Please contact support@teamtekin.com or myself so we can get this resolved: Rpike@teamtekin.com

Well I finally finished installing the RX8 in my 8ightE. I only ran it for a minute to make sure it ran. I am still waiting on my charger. Man that thing takes off on pavement! It pulled the front wheels off the ground!!

Now I am going to set up the RX8 with the Hotwire but what should my 5s lipo cut off be? 3v per cell(15v)? 3.1(15.5v) or 3.2(16v)? I think in my slash I run it at 3.2 per cell(2s = 6.4v) But for a 5s that .1v adds up.

And 2 battery placement. I have seen pics online of buggies and truggies with their batterie leads coming from the back of the pack(nearest to the esc) and I have seen some coming from the front of the pack/car. I have super long leads on my pack so I am wondering if mabe they have to come out from the front. If not I can take like 6inch of wire off.

I would recommend 3.2V/cell.

You can run your battery either way, it's not a big deal... but it will be less resistance with shorter wires going to the battery and motor.

I bought the RX8/T8 2050 kv combo for my new Losi 8 2.0 back in the middle of May. Aside from the rotor problem, which was quickly fixed with a replacement rotor from Tekin, I have had 3 different ESC's fail. The first unit lasted about 3 weeks which was about a total of 2 hours of run time. I sent that back and the cause was a broken inductor.

A month later I received a new RX8 from Tekin. The replacement didn't do so well and died in about 45 minutes of run time Again, the inductor had broken off.

Two weeks later I received my 3rd RX8. I ran it yesterday for 18 minutes before...you guessed it...failure number 3! I'm not sure if this is the inductor again, because this time all of the lights still work, which is different from the other times, but there is no response from the motor. I thought maybe it might be the motor, but another guy in my club had the exact same symptoms with his failed RX8, so I assume the motor is ok. (All the connections are good.)

So, I asked around at my club and every member that bought the Tekin combo has had the controller fail. In fact, none are currently running them because they are all in for repair. The only other person running a Tekin yesterday (a replacement unit) had his die in 4 1/2 minutes of run time. None of us know anyone that hasn't had a RX8 fail.

Ya, mine was the 4.5 minute one which is one minute longer than the last one ran.

I know someone (avrcguy) who has run his RX8 all summer without an issue, except for the rotor that slipped back in early May and was replaced right away. Since then, it's been all good for his setup.

I have not run an RX8 myself, but I have been running a Tekin 1900 motor with my MMM

Randy, I run the Ver.1 Buggy motor. Would I be able to get a replacement rotor first before it really drops out or do I really have to wait for it to drop out?
