Smoke, these forums and threads get boring real fast. A little drama is nice once in a while. Consider it RC Soap Opera! Great job in using what you have.

Ok thanks, it's 34 from center of each allen bolt to the center, then I can't use it.
I will wait for receiving my RX8, then I will think to an other way to protect it ! Thanks

After changing the battery and letting the car cool down i went out to drive with a fresh 5250 pack and soon as i punched the throttle the car still had the same stutter and only felt like it was running at about 60% power.

Any ideas what it could be before i send it in for a service check? I have Hotwire and had set the cut off at 4 and not changed any other settings, the motor and ESC have not been over heated as i am running 14/50 gearing on a 8T and it hardly gets warm.

Thank you for any help, been loving the Tekin Esc/Motor other then this issue.
What LED's are displaying on the RX8 when this happens?

Just to clarify, when setting the lvc on the hotwire in custom mode, is it per cell or per pack?

Ok, does the system actually arm then? If it doesn't see nuetral it will not "arm" and will not drive the motor. It will display the throttle ramp just as you describe.

Where is your NW set? Make sure it's at least 10 on the Hotwire and led's 1 and 2 lit to start out. Lower can cause an issue where it won't arm.

What radio are you using? Do you have a hotwire?

Randy-

Yes the motor arms and runs, it is just much slower then before this issue popped up. I am using a Dx3r radio and yes i have Hotwire.

I had nearly a month of flawless performance up till yesterday and i changed nothing just before the stuttering power and low speed started.

Ok,

My guess is that you've got a bad rotor. Take the rotor out of the motor and see if the magnets slip on the shaft in any way.

If this is the case please contact me here with your full contact info:

Rpike@teamtekin.com

A slipped rotor can cause cogging and or bad sensor readings since it's not stationary to the gears.

Default no lights nothing comes on

Randy

Just installed everything, I have not even put car on ground. Motor and ESC all worked and was in process of doing quick tune settings. I have a helios with spektrum and a 5s pack. Car was on and was reading manual and the transmitters alert came on when it gets no input for a certain amount of time ie throttle or steering reminding you to turn transmitter off if you forget.

I blipped the the throttle to get the alarm to stop beeping and everything shutoff while the switch was still in the on position. Waited a hour to make sure it was not a thermal issue. Tried it again and nothing.... All connectors checked out and even replaced the Rx. Still nothing no lights no chimes nothing. The batt is showing voltage and charges.

I dont know if this means anything but when you plug this battery in the deans connectors to the ESC it arcs a little. Which to me is normal due to the current these packs can produce. Now when I plug the batt into the ESC no arching occurs.

Any ideas anything I should try before I send it in?

Jake

Default Motor temp 170 F

@TeamTekin

I've setup my RX8/1700 kV buggy combo. I'm driving RC8 with Tekno kit (clutch, no spring, geared 17/44) on 5S. ESC settings : timing 10, current limiter off, LVC 16.57, NW 10.

Car runs very smooth, thx Tekin. Little worried about motor temps. After 15 minutes : motor 170 F, ESC 4 led's lit (fan does not turn), lipo 100 F (weather : sunny, 78 F).

Some other things I experienced. Fan does not turn upon radio on and battery connection. When hooked to the hotwire it runs.

I find the motor temp a little high. Tought the system with these settings would run cooler.

Do I have to worry ,

So far the rotor holds up. First batch of combo. Bought when it first came out.

Please advise, thx. Serge
